Christian Initiation of Adults and Children

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a faith journey.  A journey involves a movement from one place to another that includes various encounters, changes& experiences taking place along the way.  The time needed in the RCIA faith journey is in contrast to the time needed for a life in a very fast paced culture. The best way to enter this time is to slow down & let yourself enjoy the invitation by God for the beautiful & rewarding journey.  Learning about the Catholic faith involves more than acquiring information & knowledge. Becoming Catholic involves entering & embracing into a faith relationship with a community of faith.

Children 7 years and older, that are not baptized, will enter the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults adapted for Children (RCIA/C).  It is recommended that at least one parent of RCIA/C students register and attend adult religious education classes.  Use the 2008-2009 First Year and RCIA/C Form to register.

RCIA meets on Wednesdays from 7:00pm – 8:30pm.

Volunteer Opportunities

There is a variety of opportunities for volunteers in religious education, the Rite of Christian Initiation and/or sacrament formation.  If you are interested in becoming a volunteer please contact the RE Office.  All volunteers working with children and youth must complete the 3-hour VIRTUS workshop “Protecting God’s Children.”  For a list of workshops in our area, or to register for a workshop online, visit the Virtus Homepage.

Catechist Formation

We're hosting Semester III of Formation Toward Christian Ministry this year!  Classes will be held Monday nights from 7-9 pm, starting Aug 16.  Download your regsitration form here or pick one up from the Religious Education office.

Classes and workshops for catechists take place throughout the year within the parish and archdiocese.  Contact the Continuing Faith Formation office for a calendar of events.

Scripture Study meets Sundays, after the 10:00 a.m. Mass, in the Youth Room.
